Is “I don’t know.” What’s irritating to me is that raising the issue of Bain Capital has any effect at all, one way or the other. If a man who was running a positive campaign feels slighted by a competitor because the competitor decided to play a little rough, and then that man proceeds to get red in the face and put out ads attempting to undercut the competitor’s core selling point (i.e. business acumen)….why would somebody look at those attack ads and go “Gee….these clearly must be true”? The correct reaction to Bain Capital should be absolutely NOTHING. It should not move the needle one way or the other at all, unless a slew of independent (well, as “independent” as anyone can be nowadays) reports confirm or deny the accusations. Now it may be a legit issue to raise; that’s fine. But when the person raising the issue is a competitor who got his feelings butt-hurt, there should be a HEAVY burden of proof on him to show that the allegations have even one iota of substance. If he doesn’t, fine; that’s on him. But what’s then on YOU is for you to do your own homework. There’s this thing called the internet, and there’s this thing called google. If you care that much then try using them sometime to dig up the truth yourself.
Too complicated? No shit. Again, unless there’s a clear 3rd party analysis available at your fingertips….a) how are you going to dig up the truth about Bain Capital yourself, b) how in the world are you going to interpret your findings correctly? Do you know anything about the types of capital injections and large-scale operations overhauls these guys were doing? No. So how are you going to figure out if they were running a chop-shop? You won’t. So when you hear Newt baboon get excited and start slinging mud, relax, take a xanax, and remember that you should have jero reaction to it unless credible sources provide you with further concrete information. And remember that by and large, Newt is doing the equivalent of a third grader saying “Yeah, well your mom is really fat and annoying.” You’re so pissed off that you say the first insult that comes to mind, whether it makes sense or not. Now maybe if you look into it, it might turn out that the maligned mom IS fat and annoying. So maybe the kid knew before-hand, or maybe the insult was just coincidentally right; either way, a) you have to decide whether the insult is worth looking into, and b) you have to know whether or not you’ll be able to interpret the data correctly if there’s no third party help available. Fat mom? Easy. Bain Capital actually being a chop-shop? Not so much….though on it’s face it doesn’t sound very credible.
So please….understand this. People are always trying to break down what’s wrong with this country. What’s wrong with the system, what’s wrong with politics, what’s wrong with our elected officials etc. Understand that it all begins with YOU. If you weren’t so retarded, none of these 2-bit sleaze tactics would work. There would be no such thing as “spin,” or at least it would be much harder to effect it. People love saying that “Money is the root of all evil in politics.” Think about that for a second. Why is that? Because with a big ole warchest, you can buy a lot of tv ads. You can saturate media. You can assemble an A-team that will keep your shiny plastic image so fresh and so clean, clean. Uh, but….if people weren’t retarded, then it wouldn’t matter how many ads a candidate ran. People would be able to, by and large, separate the wheat from the chaff on the major issues. Eg. if you see the clip of Romney saying “I’m not trying to return to Reagan-Bush” and then you see him furiously trying to establish his conservative bona fides….you would then know “Oh….this guy is full of shit.” And to be fair, Mitt Romney is such a blatant example of flip-flopping that this IS well-known and that’s why so many conservatives hate him. But the sad thing is that even still, not everyone is able to come to this obvious conclusion; Romney’s skrilla-saturated super pacs and his AAA team of handlers are able to spin even such blatant flip-flopping and convince the more jag-off segment of the electorate that yes….he does stand for what you believe in. If they can spin such blatant hypocrisy, you can only imagine what happens when issues become even slightly complicated. People are dipshits; polls swing this way and that because people can’t find their own assholes with both hands and a flashlight, and yet they choose to vote anyway. So I’ll say it again: if people weren’t such flaming retards, politics would be a MUCH cleaner, much fairer game. Because you wouldn’t be able to spin someone. So please….if you’re reading this and you’re a retard, just please, PLEASE try not to be retarded. Use your brain and don’t be naïve. If you’re reading this and you’re a non-retard….please keep in the forefront of your mind what the real issue is in this country. It’s all these dense, witless pedestrians that politicians and big money are able to ply very easily. Please start protesting against retardedness; THAT is the root of all evil.
