Ok so the middle segment today on the Daily Show was Aasif Mandvi doing a piece on Floridians having to get drug tested before receiving a welfare check. And Aasif Mandvi bent over backwards to show what an asinine idea this is. Ok, well…I just watched a Sean Hannity – Juan Williams meltdown over what the state of the economy is. It ended with Hannity saying “I’m getting high blood pressure” and “I don’t know why I like you.” Hannity basically… Stephen Colbert isn’t that good
Don’t get me wrong; I like Colbert a lot. The Daily Show without a Colbert Report follow-up just wouldn’t be right. But….Colbert is just not as good as Stewart. Too often he’s just exhaustingly random. His show is kind of like Family Guy. The Family Guy creators think that inserting a bunch of random bits into their show is comic genius. Ummm….no. Random bits are just random, plain and simple… Bill O’Reilly is damn good…usually
Let’s get this out of the way up front: Bill O’Reilly is not a republican. He is not a conservative. To use his term, he is a traditionalist, which means he has conservative leanings, but this is not a guy that does a whole-sale espousal of conservative ideology.
